Jeff Morneau for Governor’s Council

Jeff Morneau is the only candidate on Thursday’s primary ballots out here in Berkshire County who has been endorsed by the Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts.

To the Editor:

The primary election contest for the open seat on the Governor’s Council has gotten nearly zero attention out here in the far west. The two candidates on the September 8 Democratic ballot are both from Springfield, but we’re in that same district, so the choice is up to us too.

Jeff Morneau deserves our support. Jeff is a lawyer, with a labor and consumer practice in the Springfield area. He is now the president of the Hampden County Bar Association. He is first-time candidate for public office who is running against a political veteran with much greater name recognition, at least in Springfield. A fresh perspective would be a welcome tonic for the ancient Council. Jeff is the only candidate on Thursday’s primary ballots out here in Berkshire County who has been endorsed by the Progressive Democrats of Massachusetts.
