Jean Munson- Webster, 92, of Great Barrington died Monday June 8, 2015 at Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehab Center in Great Barrington. Jean was born on April 25, 1923 in Rhinebeck, N.Y., daughter of George and Veronica (Decker) Doty.
Jean was a graduate of the former Searles High School, class of 1942. She worked at General Electric in Pittsfield, First National Bank and as a bookkeeper for E. Caligari and Sons until her retirement. Jean enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Thursday Morning Club and the James A. Modolo Women’s Auxillary.
Jean’s husband George E. Munson Sr. predeceased her in November of 1984. Jean is survived by one son, George E. Munson Jr. and his wife Eleanor of Sandisfield. In addition to her husband George E. Munson Sr., Jean was predeceased by one son, Thomas Munson on July 1, 1970, daughter, Pamela Munson on September 5, 2009 and brother Frank Doty.
Funeral Services for Jean Munson-Webster who died Monday June 8 will be held on Saturday June 13 at 11 a.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, Mass., with the Reverend William P. Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Peter’s Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the funeral service from 10 to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Jean’s memory may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or Saint Peter’s Church Restoration Fund in care of the funeral home at 33 South St., Great Barrington MA 01230.
