Jane Elizabeth Toolin 84 of North Plain Road, Housatonic, Massachusetts, died Tuesday August 11, 2015 at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington.
She was born in Housatonic on August 26, 1930 daughter of William A. and Minerva G. Lee LaPrise and attended local schools. Jane was a 1948 graduate of the former Searles High School.
She had previously worked at the former Rising Paper Co. She also worked as a medical assistant, and as a tour guide and office manager for the Massini Bus Company. She was a lifelong communicant of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church of the Corpus Christi Parrish. She was a volunteer for the Fairview Hospital Auxiliary. Jane enjoyed traveling, attending her granddaughter’s Irish Dancing Competitions, and was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan.
Jane was predeceased by her husband James M. “Bun” Toolin who died August 1, 2000. She leaves her daughter Joan McCue and her husband Edward, of New Fairfield, Conn., two brothers, Paul LaPrise of Russell, Mass., and Lee LaPrise of Southwick, Mass., and two grandchildren Lauren and Rebecca McCue, and 10 nieces and nephews. She also leaves a wonderful circle of friends who will miss her spirit and positivity daily.
Funeral services for Jane Elizabeth Toolin who died August 11, will be held on Monday, August 17, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Church with the Reverend William P. Murphy, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bridget’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday August 16, from 1-3 p.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME.
