Irving “Papa” Kosberg, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed friend, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, in Westwood, Mass., at the age of 90.

Born on December 30, 1934, in Great Barrington, Irving lived a life marked by love, hard work, and joyful connections. With the love of his life, Teresa, he built a warm, welcoming home, a beautiful family, and a lifetime of cherished memories. A dedicated small-business owner, he took great pride in serving his community as the owner of Leonard’s Cleaners—first on Railroad Street before relocating to Bridge Street in 1981—where he was known and respected for his reliability and warm spirit.
After spending many years in Massachusetts, Irving enjoyed over two decades of sunshine and friendship in Venice, Fla., with Teri and their chocolate lab, Chelsea. He embraced life with a love for playing cards, engaging conversations, and relishing in the simple joys of a well-cooked steak and a good glass of scotch.
Irving leaves behind his two sons, Jay (Jennifer) and Joel (Kathleen), as well as his adoring grandsons, David and Sam, who brought him endless joy. Irv is also survived by his longtime friend Roy Aibel, whom he met as a young boy at Lake Buel and with whom he shared a decades-long friendship that involved memories of a road trip to Florida in Roy’s MG as well as countless summer afternoons relaxing at “The Lake.”
Irving’s memory will be held dear, his lessons remembered, and his love felt always.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
