Pittsfield — The city’s Police Department is looking for suspects in three separate shooting incidents.
According to a press release issued by Lt. John Soules, on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at around 7:30 p.m., the department responded to the 100 block of First Street to a 34-year-old Pittsfield resident, who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The male resident was transported to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment, and the injury was determined to be not life-threatening.
On Thursday, Oct. 31 at around 11 p.m., the department responded to the 20 block of Pleasant Street where several callers reported shots being fired.
A ShotSpotter alarm, which is used to determine gunshot activity, was also activated in the incident.
The officers arrived on the scene to find an 18-year-old male Pittsfield resident who sustained a gunshot wound.
The resident was transported to BMC for treatment and the injury was determined not to be life-threatening.
On Friday, Nov. 1 after 12:30 a.m., officers again responded to the 20 block of Pleasant Street after a second ShotSpotter alarm was activated, along with a report of shots fired.
Officers recovered shell cases on the scene.
In relation to the incident, about one hour later at 1:40 a.m., officers were dispatched to BMC for a shooting victim who arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound.
The 37-year-old male Pittsfield resident received treatment and the injury was not considered to be life-threatening.
Lt. Soules wrote that the department believes the two Pleasant Street incidents are related, but it is not known if the First Street shooting incident is connected.
He wrote that the incidents do not appear to be random acts of violence, and there is no known threat to the general public.
