To the Editor:
Thank you to the town of Great Barrington’s Zoning Board of Appeals, as well as Select Board, Planning Board, Conservation Commission and Board of Health for their support of a special permit for expansion of the Holiday Inn Express on Stockbridge Road. This permit allows me to maintain my successful franchise and business continuity in the community where I have operated for 13 years.
Though there will be changes at the hotel, every effort will be made to preserve or replace any greenery and landscaping affected by construction. This is important to the community and to my business presentation as well.
I respectfully suggest that there is an opportunity for improved pedestrian access on the northern commercial section of Stockbridge Road. Businesses in the area may agree that an extended sidewalk would allow us all to have safer and easier access to other business neighbors, and this would improve safety as well.
