Identity of victim in pedestrian fatality confirmed UPDATED with name of driver involved in incident

According to Police Chief Paul Storti, the pedestrian killed yesterday on Route 7 was Niall Nordoff; the driver was Wayne Wilkinson.

Update 2:26 p.m.: A few hours after this was posted to The Berkshire Edge, Police Chief Paul Storti sent in a press release that the driver of the vehicle that struck Nordoff has been identified as Wayne Wilkinson, 58, of Sheffield. No other further details have been released.

Great Barrington — According to Police Chief Paul Storti, the pedestrian killed yesterday on Route 7 was Niall Nordoff.

Chief Storti confirmed this with The Berkshire Edge one day after the January 24 accident after a post was made on the Great Barrington Community Facebook group identifying Nordoff, 41, as the person who died.

According to his Facebook profile, Nordoff was a Great Barrington resident originally from North Egremont who was working as a landscaper.

There have been no other further updates in the investigation.
