Housatonic Water Works receives $350,000 grant from MassDEP and EPA

The company has received $350,000 through the Emerging Contaminants for Small or Disadvantaged Communities grant program funded from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.

Great Barrington —  Eileen Mooney, publisher of the NEWSletter, reported that Housatonic Water Works received a grant from the Environmental Protection Agency and the state’s Department of Environmental Protection on June 13.

According to the letter, which Mooney received through a public records request, the company has received a $350,000 grant through the Emerging Contaminants for Small or Disadvantaged Communities grant program funded from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill.

The letter from MassDEP does not state the work the company will be applying the funds to.

It is also not known how the grant funds will impact the company’s current rate increase request with the Department of Public Utilities.
