Helen L. Soldati, 89, of Great Barrington

Helen attended local schools and was a graduate of the former Searles High School class of 1943. She worked as a secretary at Home Gas in Housatonic.

Helen L. Soldati, 89, of Great Barrington died Friday January 30, 2015 at Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Great Barrington on November 24, 1925, daughter of George and Esther Pratt Ames.

Helen attended local schools and was a graduate of the former Searles High School class of 1943. She worked as a secretary at Home Gas in Housatonic. Helen’s husband Edgar A. Soldati predeceased her in 1967.

Helen is survived by two sons, Ronald Soldati and wife Maggie Taylor, and Wayne Soldati; one daughter, Lori Pothul and husband Steven; five grandchildren, Heather Sullivan, Shaun Pothul, Bethany Pothul, Dylan Soldati and Brody Soldati; and three great grandchildren, Cameron Garcia, Tyler Sullivan-Lopez and Dominic Soldati.

In addition to her husband Edgar A. Soldati, Helen was predeceased by one son, Brian Soldati and two sisters, Gladys Caffrey and Dorothy Heath.

In keeping with Helens wishes funeral services are private. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Helen’s memory may be made to the Great Barrington People’s Food Pantry in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington MA.
