Helen Audino, the last of seven children, 97, of Housatonic, died Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 at her daughters home, surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born in Housatonic on November 4, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Frances (Siok) Pothul. She worked as a sewer at Country Curtains, retiring in 1998. Helen was a communicant of the former All Saint’s Church and Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish. She bowled in leagues at the Cove, and loved cats and dogs, but family is what meant everything to Helen.
Helen’s husband, Frank Audino, whom she married on December 27, 1944 at All Saint’s Church, predeceased her on August 30, 2007. Helen is survived by two daughters, Karen Guidi and fiancé Bill VanDeusen of South Egremont, and Sandy Smith and husband Eric Smith of Sheffield, and four grandsons, Michael Kellogg, Ryan Guidi, Sean Smith, and Mark Guidi. In addition to her husband, Helen was predeceased by her daughter Susan Audino, four brothers, Marcel Pothul, Alex Pothul, Joseph Pothul, and Frank Pothul, and two sisters, Alice Herlihy and Veronica James.
Funeral services for Helen Audino will be held Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10 a.m., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish in Housatonic, with Reverend William P. Murphy, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Bridget’s Cemetery. Birches-Roy Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Condolences may be made through the Birches-Roy website.
