Harry T. Jennings, 72, of Housatonic died Monday, April 12, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Harry fought the long hard fight of cancer; through nine years, he always kept his pride and dignity. Harry was born in Great Barrington on July 9, 1948, the son of Helena (Marconi) Jennings and the late Walter R. Jennings. He was a graduate of the Pittsfield High School class of 1966.

Harry worked for the Great Barrington Fire Department for 38 years, starting in 1974, the last 11 years of which he was the Fire Chief, retiring in 2012. He was a member of the Berkshire County Fire Chiefs, Massachusetts Fire Chiefs, and the Western Massachusetts Fire Chiefs Associations, Great Barrington Fish and Game, and the U.S. Army National Guard.
He was a member of the Alford Brook Pitch League, playing on team 4 for many years, where he was known for his bare ace 3 bid and even a bare deuce 4 bid. Harry also enjoyed golfing in his retirement and was a member at Egremont Country Club, where he played in the Wednesday Night League, donating many balls to the pond on the 5th hole. From the 4:00 Club to the garage at home were some of the greatest times. Harry, with his entourage, solved the world’s problems and made lasting memories.
Harry is survived by his mother Helena (Marconi) Jennings, his wife of nearly 50 years Christine (Baumann) Jennings, his son Walter Jennings and wife Amy, son-in-law James Mead, daughter Jana Prochazka, his two brothers Richard Jennings and wife Mary and Thomas Jennings and wife Julie, his two sisters Rosalie Snyder and Sandra Kleiner and husband Stan, his four grandchildren Bradley and Cynthia Mead and Jake and Jared, and his dog Flash. In addition to his father, Harry was predeceased by his daughter Heather Mead and grandson Jacob.
