Great Barrington — The Selectboard will interview the lone candidate for its town manager position on Tuesday, July 22, at 5 p.m. at Town Hall.
On the agenda for the meeting issued Thursday, July 17, the candidate was revealed to be William Riccio, who is currently the director of public services for Newport, R.I. According to his LinkedIn resume, Riccio began as the director of public services for Newport in November 2007.
His resume lists that he graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 1988 and graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Master of Science in civil and environmental engineering in 1996.
Additionally, he has also taken part in the Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executive Program for State and Local Governments in 2009 and the school’s Leadership in the 21st Century program in 2016.
The town manager position has been vacant since the end of 2024 when then-Town Manager Mark Pruhenski left to take over that position in Middlebury, Vt.
