The Massachusetts Lottery announced on April 10 that Great Barrington resident Richard Swiater won a $1 million prize in its “$4,000,000 Monopoly Doubler” $10 instant ticket game.

According to the Lottery’s website, Swiater purchased his winning ticket at Silk’s Variety, 107 Main St., in Sheffield.

The store receives a $10,000 bonus for the sale of the ticket.

Swiater chose the cash payment option for his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes.
