Great Barrington Main Street reconstruction update: May 11-15

On Monday and Tuesday Maxymillian will be laying stone from Castle to Elm Street. Paving of the core should begin on Wednesday, May 13. Street light and traffic light conduit work will continue along the edge of the road from Castle to Elm Street.

Great Barrington — The following dispatch from the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce that is coordinating information about the progress of the Main Street Reconstruction Project:

Maxymillian will begin Monday, May 11th at 6 a.m. They will continue pouring new sidewalk on the west and east sides of Main Street. All businesses will have clear access during work hours.

On Monday and Tuesday Maxymillian will be laying stone from Castle to Elm Street.

Paving of the core should begin on Wednesday, May 13.

Street light and traffic light conduit work will continue along the edge of the road from Castle to Elm Street.

Verizon will be rebuilding telephone manholes from Elm Street moving north toward Cottage Street.

Two-way traffic and access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Police officers will be present at all locations to direct traffic and ensure traffic flows smoothly in all directions.

Work hours are between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. With the exception of completion of daily tasks and additional clean up of areas, road conditions will return to normal after 3 p.m. each day.
