Grace T. Gleason, 95, of Egremont

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 10, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 11 at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. William P. Murphy. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Egremont.

Grace T. Gleason, 95, of Egremont Plain Road in Egremont, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born on August 24, 1928 in Irasburg, Vt., she was the daughter of Arthur and Eva Tatro Taylor. Grace was a graduate of the former Williams High School.

Mrs. Gleason worked for Mount Everett Regional School for 30 years as a baker. She also worked for the Richmond Telephone Company.

Grace enjoyed working in her gardens, bowling, knitting, and quilting.

Grace leaves her daughter, Robin Walther, and husband of Egremont, as well as five grandchildren, Ethan Hendrick of Egremont; Robert Burns of Copake, N.Y.; Ashley Deane of Granville, Mass.; Shawna Hamblin of Magnolia, Texas; and Dustin Walther of Egremont. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Shienne Hendrick, Robert “Bo” Burns Jr., and Zoey Luna Deane.

Grace was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Donald W. Gleason, on August 24, 2010. The couple was married on October 4, 1947. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Gleason Hamblin, in 2002.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 10, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 11 at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. William P. Murphy. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Egremont.

Family will receive friends at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Great Barrington. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Dr. Stephen Kaufman, 81, of Eliot, Maine

The funeral will take place at Dewey Hall in Sheffield on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 11 a.m., followed immediately by internment at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery in Great Barrington. A livestream of the funeral service will be available.
