Grace K. Rockefeller, 89, formerly of Reed Street in Great Barrington, passed away on September 19, 2016 at Springside Nursing Home in Pittsfield, Mass.
A native and lifelong resident of Great Barrington, Grace was born on April 22, 1927 to Robert and Marguerite Parrish Kellogg. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Searles High School with the class of 1945.
Grace married Edward Rockefeller on March 30, 1946 in Great Barrington. She was a bookkeeper for Palmer Lines Trucking Co. and later an aide for Massini Bus Co., all while raising her three children. She retired in the early 1990’s.
Grace proudly served as a member of the former VFW Women’s Auxiliary at the James A. Modolo Post 8348 in Great Barrington. She also enjoyed knitting and macramé.
She is survived by her two children Scott and his wife Eileen of Lee, Mass., and her daughter Margot and her husband Dale of Pittsfield, her five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her brother Franklin Kellogg and his wife Sharon of Hartsville.
Grace was predeceased by her husband Edward who passed away in 2012 and her son Bruce who passed away in July 2016 and four of her brothers; George, Norman, Arthur and Raymond Kellogg.
A service celebrating the life of Grace K. Rockefeller will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Charles VanAusdall officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
