George William Bona, 56, of Pittsfield died on October 1, 2023. He was born in Pittsfield in 1965 to Mary Ann Bona and was raised in Stockbridge. George attended Stockbridge Plain School, Searles Middle School, and went on to Monument Mountain Regional High School. Many of his classmates remember him as a playful kid who was always making people laugh and going on some crazy adventure. These characteristics embodied his adult life as well.

George was always very good with his hands, and many know him for his handyman and caretaking skills. He was always willing to help someone with a project and took pride in his work. Everyone who knew George knew how much he loved rap music, especially The Notorious B.I.G. We will always imagine him dancing and rapping to the music and hearing him say “Stanley Steamer” or “M&M’s in the head” one more time. George had a soft spot for his furry friends, treating each and every one like the valuable family member they were. George has chosen for his remains to be near his beloved cat Grayson, whom he lost last year.
George was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, Laura and Daniel Bona; his aunt Irene Bona; and his cousins, Jake Bona and John Kiley. He is survived by his mother Mary Ann Bona; his sister Tina Hervieux (Bona); his nieces, Shasta Bona and Sage Hervieux; his uncles, Daniel and William (Billy) Bona; and his cousins DJ, Emilyn, and Maggie Bona.
The family will not be having any services at this time. Donations to the GoFundMe page to help with cremations services would be greatly appreciated.
