George S. Bohlen, 77, of Housatonic

The family of George S. Bohlen will receive friends on Friday, April 26, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington.

George S. Bohlen, 77, the founder and owner of Bohlen-Reis Construction, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024, with his family by his side.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 19, 1946, he was the son of George and Marie Bohlen. George was a devoted husband to Patti Bohlen for 51 years and a loving father to Rachel Bohlen, her partner Josh Saunders, and his son Caleb Saunders. He was a beloved grandfather to Jason and Emily Roberts. George was also a proud brother to Eileen Pierce and a cherished uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many.

A respected figure in his community, George leaves behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, and dedication to his craft. He was a builder of beautiful homes and loving relationships. George will be greatly missed.

The family of George S. Bohlen will receive friends on Friday, April 26, from 4 to 6 p.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington. John H. Pirzl, 67, of Dalton

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 10 a.m., at St. Ann Church with Monsignor John Bonzagni officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Pittsfield.
