GB Main Street construction update: Monday Aug. 3 through Friday, Aug. 7

The Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce weekly construction schedule for work along Main Street in Great Barrington, from St. James Place to Cottage Street through the village downtown.

Great Barrington — Maxymillian will continue work August 3rd, at 6:30 a.m. They will be setting curbing on the east side of Main Street, on the north side of the project.

Sidewalks will be poured between Bridge and St. James Place.

Maxymillian will be pouring sidewalk on the south side of the project from Bridge Street to St. James Place.

All businesses will have clear access during work hours.

Verizon will be doing conduit work from Elm Street moving north.

Lapinski will continue with traffic light conduit work on east side of Main Street on the north end of the project from Cottage Street moving south.

Two-way traffic and access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Police officers will be present at all locations to direct traffic and ensure traffic flows smoothly in all directions.

Work hours are between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. With the exception of completion of daily tasks and additional clean up of work areas, road conditions will return to normal after 3 p.m. each day.
