Garrett John Norton, 21, of Housatonic died April 4, 2015 at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. He was born in Pittsfield on December 4, 1993 son of Michael and Justina “Tina” (Lis) Norton. Garrett was a graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School class of 2012 and then went on receive a degree in Automotive Services from Hudson Valley Community College class of 2014. Garrett worked as an auto technician at John’s Garage in Housatonic. While at Monument Mountain Garrett played both
varsity football and baseball. Garrett also enjoyed working on his truck and fishing and golfing with his brother Kevin. He loved life, being with friends and family and always had a smile on his face.
Garrett is survived by his parents, Michael and Justina “Tina” Norton of Housatonic; brother, Kevin Norton of Housatonic; paternal grandmother, Irene Norton of West Stockbridge; aunt, Ginny Meyer and husband Thomas of Pittsfield; uncle, Tom Norton and his wife Beth of Housatonic; uncle, Matt Norton and his wife Dianna “Dede” of West Stockbridge; and cousins, Brian and Nicole Delmolino, Shawna and Aaron Norton, Lianne Frye, Sarah and Billy Fortini. Garrett was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Edward Norton, maternal grandparents, Chester and Rina Lis and uncle, Kevin Norton.
Funeral services for Garrett J. Norton, who died April 4, will be held on Monday, April 13 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Corpus Christi Church, Housatonic, with the Reverend William P. Murphy pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bridget’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, April 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St. in Great Barrington, Mass.
