GARDENER’S CHECKLIST: Week of December 23, 2021

Our master gardener takes a break from gardening for some holiday reflection.

As passionate as I am about gardening, this is the one time of year when I have little to say. Oh, I find great pleasure in the scent of holiday greenery and at the sight of colorful poinsettias, amaryllis, and other flowering plants. As always, they lighten my spirits and invoke thoughts of how beautiful life can be.

Yet, as with many families, we’ll experience some emptiness this holiday. It is all the more reason to pause, to cherish our memories, to be grateful for the moments we’ve shared with loved ones, and to open our hearts to those who are dear to us.

I count you among the latter. Enjoy all that life has to offer this festive season and have a very Merry Christmas!
