Gale Ann Hartel, 62, of Cumberland, Maryland, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born Aug. 2, 1955 in Middletown, Ohio, Gale was the daughter of the late Bruce D. Hartel and Roberta (Stephen) Hartel. A graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School, she also graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and Springfield Technical Community College. She retired from Advanced Diagnostic Radiology. Gale attended Our Lady of the Mountains Parish and was a member of the Civil War Trust. She was an animal lover and her passion was photography.
Gale is survived by her sisters: Hollace Albonesi and husband Donald, of Naples, Florida, and Gretchen Patnode and husband David of Westhampton, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind her nephew, Bryan Albonesi, and wife Melissa of Norwell, Massachusetts; and her niece, Julie Phylis, and husband Craig of Bedford, Massachusetts; as well as numerous cousins.
There will be a graveside service Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
