A recipe for Marvelous Matzos.

Sheffield— If you have Matzos in the house, you likely have everything you need to create a “wow” dessert – especially for chocolate lovers. I have made these many times as I usually have these ingredients on hand and a box of matzos in the freezer. I have been so relieved to make these when I needed to make a last minute dessert. Plus, they taste good and are so fun to eat!

Marvelous Matzos

1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 to 2 cups of chopped dried fruit and nuts, such as dried cranberries, candied ginger,  candied orange peel, raisins, dried figs, dates, walnuts, almonds, pecans, etc.
2 large matzos

Place the matzos on a cookie sheet that can fit in the refrigerator.

Pour chocolate chips into a small pan. Melt on low to medium, stirring constantly.

Smear 1/4 of the melted chocolate onto each matzo.

Sprinkle the chopped fruits and nuts on each matzo.

Drizzle the remaining chocolate on the two matzos.

Place the cookie sheet into the refrigerator for about an hour to set the chocolate.

Break up the matzos into large pieces and serve.

Tips:

If you do not have chocolate chips, you can use a bar of dark chocolate.

Store leftover Matzos pieces in a ziplock bag in the freezer.
