Former Mount Greylock Regional School District Superintendent McCandless named new Du Bois Regional Middle School principal

McCandless started work as the superintendent for the Mount Greylock Regional School district in 2020 until he resigned in late May.

Great Barrington — Former Mount Greylock Regional School District Superintendent Jason “Jake” McCandless has been named the new principal for Du Bois Regional Middle School.

Back in April,  current school principal Miles Wheat announced that he would be leaving to be the principal for the Chatham High School in The Chatham Central School District in New York starting in July.

McCandless started work as the superintendent for the Mount Greylock Regional School district in 2020 until he resigned in late May.

According to a press release issued by the Berkshire Hills Regional School District, McCandless previously worked as a superintendent at Mount Greylock, Pittsfield, and Lee school districts.

He was the principal of Lee Middle and High School and an assistant principal and teacher in Virginia.

McCandless’ anticipated start date is July 1.
