Florence Browner (nee Rosenblatt), 94, of South Egremont

Florence Browner (nee Rosenblatt), 94, passed away at home, surrounded by family and friends, on Friday November 1, 2024.

Florence is survived by her son and his partner, Andrew Stone and Sheila Lasker; her daughter and her spouse, Ilene Browner and Marc Goldstein; her daughter Mika Zacharia; her “daughter” Dorothy Rickus; her grandchildren, Caryn Gordon, Katherine Zacharia, and Phillip Zacharia; and her favorite feline, Charlie Lee. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Charles and Lena Rosenblatt; her husband Murray Browner; her sister Harriet Rosenblatt; her daughter Cathie Browner; and her son Stone Stone.

Florence was a long-term resident of New York and then transplanted to South Egremont for the last 40 years. She loved the Berkshires! She was proud to be the town assessor, a real estate broker, a beloved caregiver, and a member of many local organizations. She loved nature, feeding her birds, admiring her beautiful gardens, and being a parent to many rescued pets.

Memorial donations can be made to the Berkshire Humane Society. Condolences may be made through the website of Birches-Roy Funeral Home.

Maureen Jane Johnson Hickey, 86, of Great Barrington and Naples, Fla.

There will be a gathering to celebrate the life of Maureen Johnson Hickey (1938-2025) at the Berkshire Botanical Gardens in Stockbridge on Saturday, June 28th from 1:00-3:00pm.

Howard Trombley, 77, formerly of Great Barrington

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 26 from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27 at 10 a.m. at The First Congregational Church, 251 Main St., Great Barrington. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington.

Janet C. Hutchinson, 80, of South Egremont

A celebration of Jan’s life will take place Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 3 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting of South Berkshire. All are welcome to join in celebrating Jan’s life, followed by a reception.
