Fatal motorcycle collision in Lenox under investigation

Lee resident Gustavo Bernal, 49, died from injuries sustained in the accident.

Lenox — A single-vehicle motorcycle collision, which took the life of a Lee resident, is under investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to a press release by the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office, on Sunday, July 20 at 9:33 p.m., law enforcement responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle collision on the northbound lane of Route 7 at the Plunkett Street intersection in Lenox.

A State Police Trooper from the Lee Barracks came upon the collision while on patrol.

The operator of the motorcycle, Lee resident Gustavo Bernal, 49, was found in the roadway unconscious and in critical condition.

Lenox EMS transported Bernal to Berkshire Medical Center, but he died of his injuries on Wednesday, July 23.

There are no further details in the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office press release.
