At the New Marlborough Meeting House. THE LEGACY OF SLAVERY
Moderated By Alice Kessler-Harris

August 24 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

$35 – $40

Eric Foner, one of the country’s most prominent historians of the Civil War and Reconstruction, will be joined by Kerri Greenidge, acclaimed author of The Grimkes: The Legacy of Slavery in an American Family (finalist for the National Book Circle Award), to discuss her book and the legacy of slavery in the U.S. today. Moderating the discussion is the distinguished feminist historian of 19th-and-20th century America, Alice Kessler-Harris.

The Meeting House is proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture program making cultural programming accessible to those for whom cost is a participation barrier. EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare cardholders receive tickets for only $10 (tickets for some events may be limited). In addition, a limited number of Community Tickets are available for $10 for members of our community who might not otherwise be able to attend our events.
