Berkshire Opera Festival’s “Choose Your Own Opera Adventure!”
March 2 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
FreeBerkshire Opera Festival (BOF) is pleased to announce its second annual free family concert, “Choose Your Own Opera Adventure” on Sunday, March 2 at 2:00 PM at Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center’s new venue at 20 Castle Street. Join BOF’s great cast of artists for an afternoon of interactive opera adventures where the audience gets to decide what happens! The concert features favorite arias by Mozart, Puccini, Bizet, and others. This is a great opportunity for audience members aged 8-14 and their caregivers to hear famous arias and get to choose how the concert will progress.
Featured artists include soprano Erin Casey, mezzo-soprano Abbegael Greene, tenor Maximillian Jansen (who will appear this August in BOF’s mainstage production of Verdi’s La Traviata), baritone Paul La Rosa, and pianist Noah Palmer. Chorus Master and Assistant Conductor Luca Antonucci will host the event. “I’m pleased to invite everyone to a fun, interactive afternoon of music and storytelling for all ages. Featuring arias from some of our favorite operas and an original story, “Choose Your Own Opera Adventure” invites the audience to do just that — be a part of the adventure! After the performance, enjoy the chance to meet the artists for a Q&A session.”
This free family concert will be held at a new performance venue within the Mahaiwe’s soon-to-be-opened second space. Mahaiwe Executive Director Janis Martinson, had this to say about BOF’s family concert — “We are delighted to have families coming in for a double sneak peek — at the richness of opera and the Mahaiwe’s coming-soon new performance venue. Both promise to be accessible and inviting and children will be asking to come back for more.”
This event is free and welcome to all, but registration is kindly appreciated. Please visit the “Buy Tickets” link for more information.
