Berkshire Bach presents The Organ Masters with Renée Anne Louprette playing the historic Johnson Organ in The Best of Bach—The Great Organ Works at 2pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the UU Meeting House, 1089 Main Street, Housatonic, MA. The program includes familiar pieces that range from the iconic Toccata in D minor, BWV 565, to cantata excerpts such as “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring”, “Sheep may safely graze”, “Sleepers awake”, and more. The program showcases the musicality of the Johnson Organ, the “hidden gem” of the Berkshires, but also its power in the hands of the organist the New York Times described as “technically nimble and dynamic.” Distinguished Bach scholar George B. Stauffer joins Renée Anne Louprette to provide commentary on the program.
