Being in the Body:
Margarita with a Straw

Images Cinema

50 Spring Street, Williamstown, Massachusetts

n conjunction with Renoir: The Body, The Senses, Images Cinema and the Clark Art Institute present Being in the Body. This series explores the experience of being in a body, one's own or another's. What does it mean to be in a body? What does it feel like? Do our bodies define us, or is there something more?

Margarita with a Straw (India, 2014)

Laila, an overachieving Dehli University student and aspiring writer who also happens to have cerebral palsy, is determined to live her life on her own terms. When her adventurous spirit leads her to New York, she meets a fiery female activist who challenges her and pushes her in unexpected directions. Inspired by a true story, this award-winning film offers a unique perspective on ideas of love, identity and sexuality.

Run time: 1 hour, 40 minutes.

Additional films in the series include:
Being John Malkovich (US, 1999), June 15, 2 pm
A Skin So Soft (Canada/France/Switzerland, 2017), August 17, 2 pm

Tickets for each film can be purchased at the Images Box Office, located at 50 Spring Street, Williamstown. Tickets are $8 general adult matinee admission, $5 Clark and Images members.
