Studio at the Woods for Families

The Conservatory at Bethel Woods

597 West Shore Rd, Bethel, New York

The Studio is open! Join us Saturdays from June 22 - July 20 and bring the whole family for some creative fun. Explore your inner artists in a variety of hands-on art making. Every week offers a new theme led by Bethel Woods Teaching Artists.

Saturday, June 22: Capture the colors of the rainbow in a cool new way to make your own marblized paper. Once you learn the basic printing process, try other printing skills as well! Led by Bethel Woods Teaching Artist Elizabeth Greene.

Saturday, June 29: DIY Posters: Participants design a peaceful poster with a positive message. Led by Bethel Woods Teaching Artist Stacy Stone.

Saturday, July 6: Shrink Art Jewelry: Woodstock was a gathering place for many artisans, so let’s create some jewelry using the symbols of the time. Led by Bethel Woods Teaching Artist Stacy Stone.

Saturday, July 13: Mandala Painted Rocks: Mandalas are designs that encourage peaceful reflection and were incorporated into tapestries and clothing in the 1960s. Led by Bethel Woods Teaching Artist Stacy Stone.

Saturday, July 20: Beaded Wind Chimes: Create a boho designed wind chime using beads, bells, and natural materials. Led by Bethel Woods Teaching Artist Stacy Stone.

About the Teaching Artists:

Elizabeth Green is a Graphic Designer who recently retired from the New York City Parks Department where she brought her wealth of computer graphics experience along and passion for outdoors to underserved youth and their families. Elizabeth enjoys using a variety of approaches in art, music, and nature crafts to educate and inspire her audiences.

Stacy Stone has a bachelor’s degree from Marywood College and a master’s degree from Wilkes University. She currently teaches art, photography, yearbook, computer graphics, and beginning game design classes at Honesdale High School. Stacy has a passion for the arts with a focus in photography.
