The Capital Repertory Theatre presents “Murder for Two”

November 28, 2025 - March 29, 2026
$31 – $109

Capital Repertory Theatre (The Rep) presents two dazzling productions, now for the holiday season and then again in March

Murder for Two: Holiday Edition
One piano, two performers, and more chaos than Christmas dinner
November 28, 2025 to Sunday, December 28, 2025
Book and Lyrics by Kellen Blair
Book and Music by Joe Kinosian

“Ingenious! A snazzy double act.”The New York Times
“A daffy murder mystery with a constant risk of corpsing.” —The Guardian (from the original Murder for Two)

You’re invited to a Christmas Eve party at a spooky mansion…but the host won’t live through the opening number! This madcap musical mystery takes off like a shot and leaves you breathless with laughter. One actor plays eager young police officer Marcus Moscowicz, while the other actor plays all 10 suspects!

“Murder for Two” dazzled audiences at Capital Repertory Theatre in 2015 with its sassy wit and memorable tunes. Now, Joe Kinosian—who composed the score and first brought “the suspects” to life—steps back into the role for a must-see holiday event.

Content Advisory: This production contains theatrical haze, strobe lighting, and loud noises, including simulated gunshots. It also features brief comic references to sexual situations, mild innuendo, and occasional coarse language. Recommended for ages 12 and up.

Archduke
Friday, March 06, 2026 to Sunday, March 29, 2026
By Rajiv Joseph

“The comic energy of the writing carries the characters to their tragic finish line.”—The Los Angeles Times

Serbia, 1914. When teen-aged Gavrilo Princip coughs blood into a doctor’s lace handkerchief, he’s delighted that the doctor lets him keep such a fancy souvenir. But the outlook quickly dims when Gavrilo and two other boys are diagnosed with deadly tuberculosis. Suddenly, these hungry urchins have nothing to lose. A fanatical captain exploits their despair for his own nationalist ends. Soon, they’re hapless assassins bumbling their way into the start of World War I. In this pitch-dark farce, the notorious demise of Archduke Ferdinand is an allegory of our own perilous moment.

This audaciously theatrical production comes to Capital Repertory Theatre directly from Philadelphia’s Wilma Theater, winner of the 2024 Regional Theatre Tony Award. Inventive, hilarious and heartbreaking, “Archduke” reminds us that a world torn apart by political extremism inevitably eats its young.
