Eva ‘Farm Grammy’ Bagloe, 97, of Great Barrington

The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 30, at Birches-Roy Funeral Home. Calling hours will begin at 10 a.m. A short service will be held at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

In the early morning hours of Monday, May 20, 2024, Eva “Farm Grammy” Bagloe passed away at Fairview Hospital. She and her identical twin sister Elizabeth (Libby) McBath, were born on January 3, 1927 and grew up in Brewster, N.Y.

Eva married her first husband, Norman Nielson Hoskeer, on May 18, 1945. He predeceased her in 1965. Later, she married her second husband, John Bagloe, who also predeceased her.

Eva worked at the former Zayres and Ames department stores and then Becton-Dickinson in Canaan, Conn., where she drove a forklift until her retirement. She loved working on the family farm and in her vegetable and flower gardens.

Norm and Eva had three children: Norman “Skip” Jr. (and wife Christina), Brian ( and wife Patricia), and Norma Jean Agar (and husband Dennis Mason). They had eight grandchildren: Craig (Carrie), Dana (Heath), and Jarrett ; April (Pete) and Brian “BJ” (Jennifer); and Patrick (Tanya), Ginger (Almo), and Michelle (Chip). The family grew with the addition of 17 great-grandchildren: Jakob, Brennan, McKenzie, and Xander Hoskeer; Kylie and Talia (Estrella); Lorelei (Hoskeer); Braydon Hoskeer and Masey Ferris; Charlotte (Charlie) and Hudson (Beckwith); Ryan and Nathan (Zani); Christopher, Andrea, and Cooper (Paul); and Emma Stewart. Eva also leaves Libby’s daughters, Andrea (Jim) Grover and Debbie (Michael) Miller; their children and grandchildren, Kelly, Katie, Victoria, Tyler and Bentley; and many nieces and nephews. Eva was also predeceased by twin infant daughters, daughter Norma Jean, sister Shirley Butler, brother James Linkenhoker, and her twin Libby.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 30, at Birches-Roy Funeral Home. Calling hours will begin at 10 a.m. A short service will be held at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to Berkshire Humane Society or Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad.

Cheryl A. Petell, 70, of Dalton

Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Dery-Foley Funeral Home in Dalton. A memorial service for Lynn will be held on Wednesday, June 18, at 11 a.m., at the Christian Assembly in Pittsfield. There will be no calling hours, and burial will be private.

Marie Weatherhead, 90, of Lenox

A memorial service is planned at Roche Funeral Home in Lenox on Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at Mazzeo's Ristorante in Pittsfield.
