Ernest Schnesel, 84

He was recently honored by Fairview Hospital and was an integral part of the building of Priscilla's House at Construct.

N. Egremont — Ernest N. Schnesel of North Egremont, Mass., and formerly of New York, N.Y., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Oct. 18, 2014.

He was born May 23, 1930 to Pauline and Samuel Schnesel and was a graduate of New York University. He was a world traveler, art collector and philanthropist, serving on the board of Hospice of the Berkshires and Hevreh of Southern Berkshire. He was recently honored by Fairview Hospital and was an integral part of the building of Priscilla’s House at Construct.

He was the beloved husband to his wife, Anne and loving father to his children, Frann Lefkowitz, Shari Keats (Kenneth), Jodi Klein (Howard) and David Schnesel and brother to Eleanor Aaron. He was adored by his nine grandchildren, Samantha, Alana, Jake, Emily, Samuel, Lauren, Gabrielle, Spencer and Rachel.

Donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation in Bethpage, N.Y.

Thomas F. ‘Walt’ Palivoda, 72, of Housatonic

Walt’s family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a funeral service officiated by Deacon Ed Shaw at Birches-Roy Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Wyantenuck Country Club. Private burial will be at a later date.

As requested, a private burial service for close family will be held at Ashley Falls Cemetery at a later date.
