A Funeral Mass for Emma Lee Daigle will be held on Monday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Saint Peter's Church in Great Barrington, with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Peter's Cemetery.

Emma Lee Daigle, 72, of Great Barrington, returned to the Lord on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Fairview Commons in Great Barrington. She was born November 17, 1951, to Louis J. Daigle and Kathleen M. (Deschaine) Daigle. She was the eldest of nine children.

Emma was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Joseph (Tommy) Daigle and Rene Daigle. She is survived by two brothers, Mark Daigle (Karen) of Cheshire and Jeano Daigle (Colleen) of Becket; four sisters, Carol Namiot (Andrew) of Otis, Anita Daigle of Canaan, Conn., Janet Kane (Gary Tenney) of Conway, S.C., and Claudette Litchfield of Sandisfield; 11 nieces and nephews; and 16 great-nieces and -nephews.

Emma was a graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School, class of 1969. After graduating, Emma went on to study nursing. With her warm, open, generous, and loving heart, she was a natural as a nanny and traveled to Cape Cod, Mexico, and Pennsylvania, where she made life-long friendships. Returning home, Emma pursued her passion for music and, with her strong faith, was drawn to service with our church. Being a communicant of St. Peter’s Church, she developed long-lasting spiritual relationships with her church community. Emma was a cantor and choir member for over 40 years; a member of the Marian Father prayer group for over 30 years; assisted adult and youth choirs; assisted the summer Bible program at Our Lady of the Valley; and worked at Timberlyn Heights for 17 years in the dietary, housekeeping, laundry, and central supply department.

After her parents moved into senior housing, Emma kept the family home, a place where everyone would gather. When she was no longer physically able, Emma moved into Fairview Commons, where she graciously accepted and embraced this new stage in her life. She was loved by both residents and staff, and her family is forever grateful for the care she was given. Emma enjoyed playing guitar, crocheting, Sci-Fi movies, spending time with her family, and watching her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews who made her proud.

In keeping with Emma’s wishes, there are no calling hours. A Funeral Mass for Emma Lee Daigle will be held on Monday, November 18, at 10 a.m., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Saint Peter’s Church in Great Barrington, with Reverend William P.
