The world lost a kindhearted, quietly fierce, loving, generous person on April 27, 2025; her name was Elizabeth Fischer Brownlow, or “Ibbie” to her friends. Ibbie was born in Danbury, Conn., on December 20, 1933. She graduated from Danbury High School in 1951 and the University of Pennsylvania dental hygiene program in 1953.

Ibbie worked as a dental hygienist in New Fairfield and then briefly in Pittsfield after marrying the love of her life, Bob Brownlow, in June 1956. Ibbie and Bob lived for a few years in Pittsfield, where Ibbie belonged to the Jaycees and was a longtime communicate of Zion Lutheran Church. It was in Lenox that Bob and Ibbie found their forever home that they renovated and expanded to accommodate their three children and various dogs, cats, and horses. Ibbie enjoyed crocheting, travel, and golf, but most of all caring for her family. Her children are saddened by her loss but are comforted by the knowledge that they had many years with the best mom in the world.
Ibbie was predeceased by her husband Bob and leaves her children, William and wife Karen Brownlow of Quincy, Mass., Jocelyn and husband Jim Kurdzionak of Lenox, and Kristin and husband Tom Czelusniak of Lenox; her grandchildren, Lynn Pinsonneault and husband Derek, Ben and Ken Brownlow, and Emily and Erin Czelusniak; and her great-grandchildren, Noah and Grace Pinsonneault.
Ibbie lived for the last four years in the LEP unit and, most recently, the Sedgewick Wing of Kimball Farm in Lenox. Her children would like to thank all of the employees there for their kind and loving care.
Funeral services will be private for the family.
