Elizabeth “Betsy” Jane (Hastedt) Haber, 59, of Pittsfield passed away May 24, 2018. Born Feb. 8, 1959, in Great Barrington, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen Calomiris Hastedt. Betsy was a graduate of the Monument Mountain Regional High School class of 1978. She was an active member of the Pittsfield community and a beloved member of her family.
She is survived by her sisters Patricia Pixley of Pittsfield and Rosemarie Quick of Kalamazoo, Michigan; her daughters Misty Labshere of Pittsfield and Eva Assante of Vermont; her aunts June Hastedt and Margaret “Marge” Gillett; and two grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Betsy was predeceased by her husband, Donald “John” Haber; and her sister Mary Midling.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington, conducted by Rev. Chuck Young. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Cemetery in Southfield. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
