Elizabeth A. Rozon, 81, of Lee

Betty loved animals, especially dogs. She spent much of her time walking with her American Eskimo dogs on her property, which she said reminded her of childhood.

Elizabeth A. Rozon, 81, of Lee died Friday, Feb. 24, after a long illness.

Born in Pittsfield on July 31, 1935, to the late Eugene and Esther Filkins Cuene, she attended local schools. She graduated from Lee High School in 1953.

After high school, Betty worked as a bookkeeper for the former Berkshire Hills North Nursing Home until her retirement in January 1997.

Mrs. Rozon and her husband, Bernard J. Rozon, who died on May 24, 1987, were married on May 11, 1957. Together they had three children and built a home in Lee on part of the family farm where she grew up.

Betty loved animals, especially dogs. She spent much of her time walking with her American Eskimo dogs on her property, which she said reminded her of childhood. She enjoyed visiting her nephew’s cows, chickens and other animals as well as other nearby family. Sitting on her sunporch, feeding and watching the birds also brought her a great deal of joy.

Betty is survived by her son, Dale M. Rozon (Deborah), of Becket and two daughters Dawn M. Kinney of Pittsfield and Diane M. Comalli (Robert) of Bennington, Vermont; two grandchildren, Nicole and Joshua Comalli; her nephew and godson Scot Weslowski of Lee; and her brother, William E. Cuene (Pricilla), of Lee. She also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.

Besides her parents and husband, Betty is predeceased by her two sisters Eleanor Weslowski and Marie Love; a brother, Eugene C. Cuene; and a son-in-law, Mark Kinney.

In keeping with Mrs. Rozon’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. There will be a small family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
