18-year-old arrested by Pittsfield Police Department in June 14 shooting incidents

Two Pittsfield residents sustained gunshot wounds in the incidents.

Pittsfield — The city’s Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit has arrested Deakan Sayers, 18, in connection with two shootings that occurred on June 14.
According to a press release issued by the department, Sayers was arrested on June 28 on Putnam Avenue in Pittsfield.
The shooting incident on June 14 took place in the area of North Street at Bradford Street.
The two Pittsfield men sustained gunshot wounds, and they were treated at Berkshire Medical Center for their injuries.
Both men were eventually released by BMC.
Sayers was booked and charged by the Police Department for the following charges:

  • Two counts of Armed Assault with the Intent to Murder.
  • Two counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon with a Firearm.
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License.
  • Discharging a Firearm Within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.

The Police Department did not list any further details in their press release.
