Edward Slavinski, 70, of Hancock

A Celebration of Life honoring Ed will be held Sunday, December 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Rectory, 30 Albany Road, West Stockbridge, Mass.

Edward Slavinski, 70, of Hancock passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center following a period of declining health. Born in New York City on October 31, 1952, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen Mada Slavinski. Ed was a 1970 graduate of Monument Mountain Regional High School. He was a professional truck driver for various companies which include J. Donovan and Son, AirProducts, and Holland Company for a span of nearly 5 decades. On May 27, 1988, he married the former Karen Angelini at St. Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge. Ed enjoyed attending engine shows, his yard, birdwatching, and the simple pleasure of being at home. Above all, Ed’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family.

Ed is survived by his sons, Edward Slavinski of Hancock and Nathan Slavinski of Hillsdale, N.Y.; a step-son, Ricky Jennings of Hancock; and a step-daughter, Kim Jennings of Pittsfield. He also leaves his sister, Josie Slavinski Harvey, and her husband, John Harvey of Hillsdale, N.Y., and his brother, James Slavinski, and his wife, Gail Wool of Great Barrington. Ed also leaves his grandchildren, Lonan Jennings, Lyrin DeMaranville, Leilani DeMaranville, and his beloved dog, “Ruger.”

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ICU staff at Berkshire Medical Center and the staff at Berkshire Hematology and Oncology for their wonderful care and compassion shown to Ed.

A Celebration of Life honoring Ed will be held Sunday, December 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Rectory, 30 Albany Road, West Stockbridge, Mass. Memorial donations in Ed’s honor may be made payable to “BMC Cancer Center” and mailed to Devanny-Condron Funeral Home, 40 Maplewood Avenue, Pittsfield, MA 01201.

Francis Thomas Duke Jr., 82, of Lenox

The funeral for Mr. Francis T. Duke will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Lenox, with Rev. Michael Tuck officiating. Burial will be private in Corashire Cemetery in Monterey. There will be no calling hours.

There will be a service held on Wednesday, May 14, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Roche Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.

U Ba Win, 78, of Great Barrington

A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 26, at the Daniel Arts Center at Bard College at Simon's Rock.
