Edith Pease Leveille, 97, of Great Barrington

Edith Pease Leveille, 97, passed away on November 3, 2022. Born June 28, 1925, she was the daughter of Henry and Sarah “Sally” Pease of Monson, Mass. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas G. Leveille. She was a resident of Great Barrington, for 15 years, Bennington, Vt., for 20 years and Cheshire, Conn., for 30 years.

After graduating from Monson (Mass.) High School where she was captain of the girls’ basketball team, Edith attended technical college in Springfield. She worked in the business office for Fisk Tire Company in Chicopee and the head office of a supermarket chain in Springfield during World War II. She later worked as an Administrative Assistant at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut. She was also co-owner of a camp trailer and truck cap business in Cheshire. After retiring, she worked as a volunteer at the Claire Teague Senior Center in Great Barrington.

Edith enjoyed camping, hiking, ceramics, sports, animals, and was a co-founder of the Cheshire Cats Square Dance Club in Connecticut. She was also an enthusiastic and knowledgeable gardener. Edith was a kind, thoughtful person with a great sense of humor. She was also persistent and steadfast in her beliefs.

Edith is survived by her son, Gary Leveille (Audrey) of Lee, Mass., daughter Lynne Weagle (Carmelo) of Ormond Beach, Fla., and beloved friend Harvey Burdick of Pownal, Vt. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Sarah Incutto (Jeff) of Massachusetts, Dan Weagle (Pam) of Massachusetts, Justin Leveille of California and Katelyn Leveille of New York, four great-grandchildren, her niece Sarah Herman of Maryland, nephew David McCarty of New Mexico, niece Roxanne Smith of Massachusetts and nephew Richard Walker of Florida. She was predeceased by three sisters, Elvie McCarty of New Mexico, Marian Walker of Florida, and Esther Nelson of Massachusetts.

Lombard Funeral Home of Monson, Mass., has been entrusted with the arrangements. There will be no calling hours. A gravesite memorial will be announced at a later date. Roberta A. ‘Bobbie’ Nussbaum, 90, of Egremont

A funeral service for Roberta 'Bobbie' Nussbaum will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home, conducted by Rabbi Barbara Cohen. Burial will follow at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Francis Thomas Duke Jr., 82, of Lenox

The funeral for Mr. Francis T. Duke will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Lenox, with Rev. Michael Tuck officiating. Burial will be private in Corashire Cemetery in Monterey. There will be no calling hours.
