On January 2, Edith Biasin Raspuzzi passed away peacefully in Franklin, New Hampshire, where she lived for the past three years. She was born on January 22, 1928 to Louise (Celadon) and Antonio Biasin in West Stockbridge, Massachusetts, where she lived most of her life.
In 1945, Edith graduated from the former Williams High School and enrolled in Berkshire Business School. Two years later, she married Louis John Raspuzzi, and when they moved to Connecticut shortly afterwards, she became a bookkeeper for the State of Connecticut for four years. Upon returning to West Stockbridge, Edith worked for Charles H. Baldwin & Sons, retiring in 1979.
After retirement, she and Lou wintered in Florida for several years and then in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of the Rosary Altar Sodality and the Greater Years of St. Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge, and she volunteered for many years at St. Patrick’s bazaars and Marian Fathers’ Mercy Sundays.
Edith was predeceased by her husband of 65 wonderful years in 2012 and their son Gary in 1979. She also lost a brother, Victor Biasin, and a sister, Rose Pericolosi. She is survived by her son, Louis J. Raspuzzi Jr. and his wife Ann, three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren: Callie Raspuzzi and her daughters Sylvia and Cora Stewart; Bronson Raspuzzi, his wife Jennifer, and their two boys Kyle and Trevor; and Dawson Raspuzzi, his wife Ashley, and their three children Addison, Colby and Hayden. She also leaves sisters Mary Censato, Amelia Koldys, and Norma Grant, as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
She will be missed by her family for her dedication to them all. She was often called on and always stepped up to help when it was needed.
Funeral Services for Edith Raspuzzi will be private for family only at St. Patrick’s Church in West Stockbridge with a Liturgy of Christian Burial officiated by Monsignor John Bonzagni. Burial will follow in St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic. Family requests mask and social distancing protocols be followed due to concerns of COVID. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Edith’s memory can be made to the St. Patrick’s Church Building Fund in care of Birches-Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., Great Barrington ,MA 01230.
