Great Barrington – There’s a new teahouse in town – Extra Special Teas on Elm Street – in the building nestled next to Berkshire Bank on Elm Street. It isn’t open for regular hours just yet, but on April 2, national Autism Awareness Day, proprietors Scott and Cherri Sanes of Sheffield, joined by their son Jache, held an open house to introduce the community to what they describe this way: “We are opening a community inspired Tea House designed to bring people and extra special needs people together in a visionary way charged with purpose, self invention, social innovation and reward to everyone who walks through our door.”
The tea house will offer a worldwide selection of teas and light fair,
With partial funding from the state, Extra Special Teas will provide a Vocational Day Program for special needs individuals who will gain real world job experience.
