Downtown construction update: Overnight paving postponed, overnight parking prohibited

Great Barrington — The overnight paving operations scheduled to begin Friday, June 21, at midnight downtown have been postponed due to weather.

Paving operations will continue on downtown side streets during the week of Monday, June 24. This includes Railroad Street and the upper parking lot, Elm Street, Bridge Street, Church Street and School Street. Portions of these streets may be closed to traffic temporarily, with police officers directing traffic when necessary.

Work includes finishing all sidewalks and adding the top course of blacktop to the streets project-wide. No overnight parking will be permitted on the streets under construction overnight from Tuesday, June 25, until Friday, June 28.

Work will begin daily at 6 a.m.
