Doris Henningsen, 87, of Lenox

Mrs. Henningsen was a homemaker and also worked in the cafeteria at Center School for many years.

Doris M. Henningsen, 87, of Lenox died Monday, March 5, at Berkshire Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Doris was born July 12, 1930, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to the late William and Alice Brace Doyle. She attended local schools and was a 1948 graduate of Jersey City High School. Mrs. Henningsen was a homemaker and also worked in the cafeteria at Center School for many years. She and her husband, Mr. Bernard H. “Dutch” Henningsen, were married Feb. 23, 1952 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He died Nov. 1, 2011. She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family and friends. Doris was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church.

Doris is survived by her son William B. Henningsen and wife Lisa of Lenox; grandchildren Pam Powell (Derek) of Pittsfield and Leon W. McCluskey (Ashley) of Lenox; great-grandchildren Xavier, Austin, Zabion, Cameron, Justice, Raelyn and Titan; her sister Lorraine Hickey of Rutherford, New Jersey; her brother-in-law Henry Henningsen of Temecula, California; niece Arlene Henningsen of Temecula, California; nephews Kenneth and Daniel Hickey, both of New Jersey; and her grand-dog, Amy. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Henningsen was predeceased by her brother-in-law Kenneth Hickey and sister-in-law Elaine Henningsen.

The funeral of Mrs. Doris Marie Henningsen of Lenox will be Saturday, March 11, 2018, at 9 a.m. at the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church in Lenox with Monsignor John Bonzagni officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ memory may be made to Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. Doris’ family will always be grateful for the wonderful care she received at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox and the fourth floor at BMC. To share memories and stories, visit rochefuneralhome.com.
