Doris Helen LaGrant Walker, 90, of Lee

Doris was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an excellent caregiver to not only her 11 children, but to countless others.

Doris Helen LaGrant Walker passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022.

She was born on November 25, 1931, to the late Frederick E and Helen E Ramsdell LaGrant.

She was a 1949 graduate of Lee High School, where she excelled as a Varsity Girls’ basketball player. She enjoyed dancing and bowling in her free time. Doris was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an excellent caregiver to not only her 11 children, but to countless others.

Mrs. Walker was married to William Walker, with whom she had 11 children. She is survived by eight children: William, John, Patricia, Donald (Kim), Robert, James, Jane, and Susan; 17 grandchildren, seven great-grand children, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, Doris was pre-deceased by her three beautiful children: Howard, Steven, and Michelle; seven brothers; and one sister.

Per her wishes, there will be no services.

Funeral Mass for Robert F. "Bob" Keefner will be held on Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m., with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Saint Peter’s Church in Great Barrington with Reverend William P. Murphy Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
