To the Editor:
As a woman and as an elected official I find it offensive and a cheap shot that anyone would suggest we vote for a candidate because she is a woman. I didn’t run on the fact that I was a woman and I don’t think any self-respecting woman would or should.
We have two great candidates for selectboard in Sean Stanton and Bill Cooke who have proven themselves to be good public servants. They can bring a community with diverse opinions together rather than trying to divide. The fact that these candidates are men does not make them unqualified. The fact that their opponent is a woman does not make her qualified.
Let’s vote for the best people for Selectboard. Sean and Bill have specific ideas for reducing taxes for the vast majority of GB and Housatonic residents. It’s an easy choice.
