On Saturday, June 19, 2021, Diane M. Dunn-Lanchantin, Ph.D., loving wife and mother of three children, died peacefully after a long battle with cancer.
Diane was born on June 30, 1953 in Great Barrington, Massachusetts to John J. Dunn Sr. and Dorothy Young Dunn. She was raised on a small dairy farm in the Berkshires and attended the Roeliff Jansen School. She graduated cum laude from Springfield College and later earned her Ph.D. in biochemistry from Boston University.

Diane and her husband Rich raised three adoring children: ShawnRose, Matthew, and Holly. Her humorous spirit, compassion, and love of laughter live on through them. She is also survived by her three siblings, Mary Delouvrier, John Dunn Jr., and Mark Dunn, and their wonderful families.
Diane was known for her kindness and generosity throughout the community. She was also known for her grit, strength, and strong will. She fought for as long as she could to remain close to her loved ones.
Without the incredible work of Noopur Raje, MD, and Jill Nelson Burke, APRN, BC, Diane would not have been with us for so long. In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Diane may be made in support of multiple myeloma and plasma cell disease research at Mass General Hospital. Gifts may be made online (note “In memory of Diane Dunn-Lanchantin” in the tribute section) or via check to MGH (note “In memory of Diane Dunn-Lanchantin” in the memo line). Checks may be sent to MGH Development Office, Attn: Megan Daniels, 125 Nashua St., Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.
