Denise Littlefield, 63, of Sheffield

Her family will remember her silly antics; as a mother, she strived to make life fun and create long-lasting memories.

Denise Marie Littlefield, 63, of Sheffield passed into eternity Nov. 9, 2020, at Fairview Commons Nursing Home in Great Barrington.

Denise Littlefield

Denise was born Sept. 28, 1957, in San Pablo, California, as the daughter of William and Donna (Strahan) Depew. She worked for many years as the seafood manager at Shaw’s Supermarket in Dover, New Hampshire, and after moving to Massachusetts, as a deli and seafood clerk at Big Y in Great Barrington.

Denise led a life for Christ; if you knew her, you know she spoke of almost nothing else. She leaves a legacy of faith in her daughters, Kali and Danielle, as well as many spiritual children that she ministered to and discipled for years. A word that is commonly used to describe her is “exuberant”; she didn’t hold back in life, and fully embraced her larger-than-life personality. You could never forget meeting her or knowing her; she was truly one of a kind.

She was married for 28 years to Brad Littlefield, spending the better part of those years in Maine, pouring her life into raising two daughters. Her family will remember her silly antics; as a mother, she strived to make life fun and create long-lasting memories. Her family fondly remembers marshmallow fights, bear hunts, game nights, her many recipes and her singing. She would fill the room with song no matter where she went, and was always humming some tune or another.

She spent the last 10 years of her life in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, eventually meeting her companion, Jim, who cared for Denise and loved her well, even on the most trying and difficult days of her illness. Her family is grateful for the life she lived, but they know the life she now lives is eternal, free of suffering and sorrow, and she is dancing, singing and worshipping her Jesus, whom she loved well. She greatly looked forward to seeing Him face to face, and being ushered into eternity with the words “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Denise is survived by her two daughters: Kali Dash and son-in law Troy Dash, and Danielle Bragdon and son-in–law James Bragdon; her mother, Donna (Strahan) Depew; her siblings: Kelly Depew Mc Cord and Daniel Depew; and her two grandchildren: Elissa Sloan Bragdon and Darcy Dash.
