David Magadini explains his eviction

In his letter, David Magadini writes: “I was forcefully evicted from the house, refused re-entry, and all my stuff was confiscated.”

To the editor:

Thank you for the article that appeared on October 2, 2019.

I would like to point out one point of misinformation that was stated in the article.

The dispute with my landlord did not arise because of a water bill. It was much more complicated and was in the local court here in Great Barrington. It began in 2005 in the month of July and contained numerous issues. The dispute ended in December of 2005 when the landlord rejected all offers of equivalent value for the amount owed.

I was forcefully evicted from the house, refused re-entry, and all my stuff was confiscated.

All I got from the house was my cart because it had no monetary value.
